Writing

I’m currently working on a mix of long-form and short-form fiction, with a focus on character-driven genre stories.

Debut Novel (in progress)

My current novel, working title of The Protectorate Must Fall, follows Cora, a young woman in 1911 New York City, whose parents have been murdered by a fascist government, intent on controlling the use of magic. The story explores her desire for revenge — and the internal struggles she must confront in order to pursue it.

I’m especially interested in showing Cora’s emotional and moral arc in a way that feels honest and engaging rather than preachy. The challenge, and the joy, of this project is finding ways to explore difficult ideas through story — letting character, action, and consequence do the work.

Short Fiction (in progress)

Alongside the novel, I’m working on a short horror story that leans heavily on atmosphere, and buildup. This story focuses on creating a sense of foreboding and unease, inviting the reader to invest in the protagonist before revealing the final turn of the story.

I’m interested in how tension accumulates — how careful setup can make a final twist feel earned rather than abrupt, and how emotional investment makes horror resonate beyond the last page.

This page will evolve as projects progress, and as new work takes shape.
